Dua lipa, a British musician and singer born on August 22, 1995, in London. The singer-songwriter signed with Warner Bros Records in 2014 after working as a model. She released her self-titled debut album in the year 2017. The album peaked at the top of the charts, number third on the U.K. Albums Chart and made eight singles which included Be the One I.D.G.A.F as well as her U.K. number-one single New Rules which reached number 6 in the United States. Lipa received The Brit Awards in 2018 for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. The album has been declared platinum in a variety of countries. Dua Lipa, was born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London on the 22nd of August, 1995. Her parents are of Bosnian descendance via her maternal grandmother. She can trace her ancestors back to Peja which is a city located in Kosovo. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. Her siblings are Rina and Gjin. Lipa was influenced musically by her father, who is leader guitarist and vocalist for Oda, the Kosovan the rock band Oda. His father would play music at home and sang songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa started singing as young as six years old. at the age of nine she started singing at Sylvia Young Theater School.
