Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan is a famous American singer-songwriter. She is also referred to by her infamous nickname, The Queen of Funk. She has been awarded 10 Grammys throughout her lengthy career spanning more than 50 years. Billboard listed her as the 65th most accomplished dancer ever. The grandmother who introduced her to jazz when she was just a young girl. She started her career being in different bands. Later she joined a group named Rufus. The album she released was her debut with the band at the age 20. One year later they were awarded the group's first Grammy. Then, a few years later released her first album as a sole artist. She then released several other albums through the years including 'Echoes of an Era', 'The Woman I Am' and "Funk This". In addition to her contribution to music, she's also gained reputation as a charitable persona. She established the Chaka Khan Foundation to help children from poor families, in addition to children with autism. Khan can also be seen as an actor. She played her character Sister Carrie in the role of lead in the musical "Mama, I'm Wanting to Sing'. Chaka Chaka Chaka
